The Venerable Canon Charles Chege Kariuki
“Then the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron. Because you did not believe Me, to hallow me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them ” Numbers 20:12
By disobeying and dishonouring God in the presence of His people, Moses disqualified himself from being the one to lead God’s people into the Promised Land. Through a series of events in Numbers we see a man who had lost the plot and ended up as a lame-duck leader.
After the Aaron debacle with the golden calf there is a downward spiral in his leadership. Moses loses his courage when opposed; he loses support from significant people; he loses the respect of his followers, and now…he loses his cool at the rock. This is a completely different picture of the once gallant Moses we see in Exodus
Assess your value and place in the organisation’s mission … when you’re spent or have disempowered yourself, it is time for someone else to take the lead
